Christmas 2007

So Christmas has past and Easter has past but we're taking you back in time. I was so lucky to get time off work to come over and visit Rick in Korea for Christmas. Sometimes you really need to be around your husband and Christmas is one of those times. Unfortunately, everyone and their mom wanted to be in Korea for Christmas too, so plane tickets were REALLY expensive, but you gotta do what you gotta do, Skype just wouldn't have cut it.

I think I got to Korea about a week before Christmas so we were able to do spend some time together before and after. I brought my gifts for Rick with me but he...he had to run to the PX at the last minute! A few days before Christmas, after the clinic where he works closed for the holidays, he decided to "borrow" their Christmas tree and decorations. It was a big surprise! I guess it's the tradition of having a tree and the lights but it really seemed more like Christmas time with a tree and lights in the apartment. There's only 2 of us and look how many presents are under the tree!

Rick thought that no one would notice the Christmas tree was missing from the clinic because they were closed for the holidays. For some reason, Rick's boss decided to go into the clinic on Christmas Eve!!! He thought the tree had been stolen, called the next in line man, he called someone, and pretty soon everyone knew the tree was missing. Of course, when everybody came back to work after the holidays the tree was there and they found out Rick was the one to have taken it. Rick's boss said it made him laugh to picture Rick carrying the tree down the hill. Let's give him some visuals:

I don't think he lived that one down for a while. One would have thought it was the most exciting thing to happen in a while. I guess it is a little bit more exciting than teeth, although those are pretty exciting if you think about it!

How very clever and romantic to think of borrowing the tree. What a treenapper you turned out to be.
